Buddy

Sorry, I am not trying to hijack this thread but does anyone know if 67's had Date Codes on the tank????

Thx
Buddy

I would try looking where they have been found on the later tanks. Mine only took about 15 minutes to get to trhough previous owners undercoating and paint. A generous shot of paint remover, followed by scraping and sanding.

My 05D has a 68 44.  Now, if I could just get this kind of info on my grill attachment..........

The tank from my 02D car is also 29 69. I think I can get a code off a 1st week of Dec 1968 to add also.

No problem. The power of being able to edit posts. :)
Pretty impressive data list. But no 67's or early 68's..... yet.

I looked at my original 67 02B tank and cannot find any date code. Are they supposed to be in the same place as 68 & 69??

Thx
Buddy

I would think so but seems kinda funny NO ONE with a 67 has chimed in so maybe not???  I always look for silly stuff like this when I go over a really nice car just to see how "real" it is but can't say for sure because my passion is 68's so I really don't lock into memory what I see on 67's or 69's unless it's something out of the ordinary.  I do know some of the stamps can be dam near impossible to see, if you really want to see if there's anything there, try pulling a razor blade flat across the corner of the tank a FEW times, blow area off-don't wipe!, and get a flash light and shine/look from all different angles.  If the tank is still in the car a small mirror will help get better angles.  Actually just try the flashlight/mirror trick first, and use the razor blade as last resort!!!
