I have a 1968 SS350 that I am freshening up the interior on. Does anyone know anything about the textured black paint that is in the "tunnels" of the speedometer and the fuel gauge in the instrument cluster? The car has medium blue interior, but like on all 68 clusters, these areas are black. I am looking for a modern equivalent to apply as part of the restoration. Some have said Rustoleum textured black, but which one? Your help is much appreciated.

While I have NOT done this repair I wonder how this would work.

I have used the SEM textured on my dash. Should experiment first. Texture comes out finer or more coarse depending on how far away you spray.

SEM aerosols are more difficult to control the texture compared to the gun sprayable SEM. Restoration Shop has a fine texture paint in lacquer. It matches the dash tops as well. Perfect for the factory finish on blackout hoods on Fords.
