Is this pic a space saver for a Camaro ? Do they have any value

No way to know without posting the wheel code. Also, that inflator doesn't look right, but post a picture of the label so I can verify.

If it's local, go take a look and post some pictures. However, I have to warn you, most of these are NOT for a first generation Camaro. They're usually 1970's and later.

Thank you Ed. I just asked him for more pics. He wants 50.00 which I thought was cheap if it was for a first gen Camaro. I don't ever remember those being around in the 60's.  Emo

I believe the early space savers used a larger diameter and red painted canister. The smaller diameter and blue ones were introduced in the mid 70s and used through the 90s

Original 'space saver' tires and the inflators ARE valuable to anyone who desires an original correct car. That said, all the manufacturers used them, so IF it turns out to be for a GM product, Id advice you snatch it up. IF it turns out to be a brand 'X' version, you can always sell or trade it. Just me...

There's not a lot of information on the space savers, but here are pictures of a 1969 Firebird RPO N65 Space Saver tire and inflator for the standard 7.35x14 equipped cars. Although they look the same, the only difference is the part number for the inflator. The Camaro used the 9793470 inflator, and the Firebird used the 9793469. Don't ask me why! Also note that this one was actually in a 1969 Camaro, so who knows!

I was doing some research on my spacesaver, and came across this thread while comparing my inflator and wheel. The 69 camaro AIM N-65 A1 shows two part numbers for the inflator assembly, 9793469 and also 9793470 beside which it has RPO L34 L35 L46 L48 L78 PW7 and PW8. So both inflator cans are correct for the 69. I believe the difference can be seen on the label itself which identifies the tire size, where 9793469 is for the 7.35 X 14 tire...and the 9793470 is for the 7.75 x 14 tire.

I have an HI space saver with a 7.35 x 14 tire, which I sadly have discovered with this research is incorrect for my L48. And the canister is part 486506 for an E78 X 14, which I don't understand and I don't find it in the AIM.

I have a space saver for my 1977 trans am. It is painted black. The inflator is missing. I have not seen one painted gray before. I think the one pictured might be a first gen, or at least deserves a better look.

Yes grey is correct. A black one is for later years. Here's a fun picture, I don't remember where I found it.

Emo1956 - I own a 1979 Trans Am and the inflator bottle, which I believe is original to the car, is blue in color, with a paper covering like the one you posted.  The spare rim is painted black.
