1967 Z28 options

I purchased a 1967 Z28 that was ordered with radio and heater delete and 4:88 rear end. Does anyone have any production numbers on cars with these options?

I do not believe there are any hard fact production #'s but if the car is or will be registered in the 67Z registry they probably can give you info for what is there (known). Can you supply some info on the car like the trim tag as we love to ear about these cars and any history. Some of the experts will chime in soon I'm sure but congratulations CR!

It's impossible to determine exact production numbers once you start combining options.

Documentation. The car was recently added to the 67Z Registry so I'll check and see if Jerry has those numbers. A friend of mine bought this car new and I always loved it. I found the car about 60 miles from my home town about 6 years ago. It won the IHRA Winter Nationals in 1996 in H/R class and had been stored in a garage Since then.  It has been a Drag car since the early 70's showing 42,000 miles. It originally was Butternut Yellow but later painted Black so it will need a complete restoration. Thanks

Production numbers are not that granular. We can break it down by individual options and based on the lowest production number for a 67 Camaro, you may appreciate how rare it is:
Radio won't help as most were ordered with the U63 AM radio: 174,021 units or U69 AM/FM 6,232 units. Now heater delete reduces the overall substantially: C48 was 2,201 units. 4.88 Posi will bring it down even further to: 119 Units. Now keep in mind this is not for a 67 Z28 or any combination of the options. However if it's a legit 1967 Camaro with a 4.88 posi it's 1 of 119 1967 Camaros.

And to add to what Paul indicated, the radio was an option that had to be ordered. It wasn't something that could be "deleted". However, out of the 220,906 1967 Camaros built, 174,021 came with the U63 AM radio and 6,232 came with the U69 AM/FM radio, which means 40,653 cars came without either option.

The OP has not clearly stated the way the car was ordered and you two guys interpreted it differently.
1. The car was ordered with a radio and the heater was deleted.
2. The car was ordered with the radio and heater both deleted.
We all know there is no such thing as radio delete but newbies don't so he probably meant #2.
1967 RPO Z28 was for racers and most of the heater delete option cars that went to racers probably did did not order a radio as well.

FoMoCo documentation has shown that nearly all of the Mustangs shipped to Hawaii were heater delete cars, so that information may be useful if you have a number of Camaros shipped to Hawaii.

Jon Mello would be the guy to ask. BUT with the intent of why the '67 Z was built I doubt heater delete or even the 4.88 rear would be all that rare.  A rare '67, to me, would have power windows and rear defroster.

There were only 219 Camaros with the 4.88 axle.

I understand, but if even a quarter of them were '67 Z's that would be a high percentage.

In the 2007 version of Jerry's book he estimated about 60 or 10% of 1967 Z28s had 4.88 gears. I don't know what the current estimate is.

I think you just made the point I apparently didn't explain very clearly. If 10% of 602 cars had 60 of the 4.88 gears and all the rest of the engine packages only had 59 additional I would say that it is not rare for a Z to have it. As I said IMO and of course I am not an expert like some of you.

The point is that 4.88 gears ARE rare in 1967. The Z28 itself is also rare in 67.
