can i put the guys name and address on here and hopefully a few of you guyss after a few beers might pay him a little visit          shattered

Nope. Sorry Glenn. It's not in the database.

However, if you don't have the Muncie speedometer hole in your firewall, then the car either came with an automatic or other non-Muncie transmission. You're going to have to check the transmission and see what the date code and partial VIN is. HERE'S where to look, but it may also be on the top of the transmission. Also check the 12 bolt for the date code and ratio. HERE'S where to look for that.

Don't give up hope just yet. There's a chance your car originally came with an automatic or maybe even the 3 speed transmission. Both of those have the speedometer cable going through the "non-Muncie" hole.

No, it's not a good idea to post names and addresses on the site. This can cause legal issues.

ed i would not do it just angry at the moment  are you saying that they made 68 ss camaros in automatic form as well as 3 speed manuals?   confused

bertfam

Yes they did. The L48 engine in 1968 could be had with either the standard M15 3 speed manual transmission (what you got if you didn't order an optional transmission), the optional M13 Borg Warner heavy duty 3 speed manual transmission, the optional Muncie M20 4 speed transmission or the optional M35 Powerglide 2 speed automatic transmission.
