I'm going crazy with this. I put an old XC8 CrossRam manifold on the 350 in my '68 Camaro. Be damned if I can figure out how to get the gas pedal linked up. Edelbrock was no help at all!!!  Anyone with any ideas or has done before?  There has to be a solution.  Thanks much.............

The 6-bangers had a cable linkage instead of a rod--but I don't know of anyone reproducing them. Is the XC8 the old "Smokey Ram?"  I did a Smokey Ram years ago, and I lenghtened and re-bent the rod and used a ball pivot on the carburetor instead of the stock pin-link attachment. My question it this; why a crossram? They suck on low-end and have a very narrow powerband. But on the other hand, they look extremely trick! To each his own. Hope this helps.

I ran an XC8 on a '71 Camaro for a while. I had to use the cable. It was a constant adjustment. But since you have a throttle rod, you are going to have to make your own rod using a piece of allthread since the factory rod has the wrong geometry. My father ran the same XC8 on a 1969 Z28 using allthread. You just need to cut a piece probably a foot and a half long, and bend it to fit your linkage. Do you have the tri bar assembly? You need this tri bar, as that is where the rod links up and operates the carbs. Good luck! Just keep in mind, once you get the linkage correct, you still have to tune it. It's like two manifolds. J

I have a cable accelerator from my 68 Camaro that I removed and saved.  I have the entire assembly from the pedal to the carb.  Its been laying around for 10 years.  If you are interested, let me know.  sdkar@bellsouth.net.

I just pulled it out and I even still have the intake bracket for the accelerator cable and the transmission kick down cable.  If you like, send me your email and I will send you a pic of it.

I gotta ask?

Is this the old side by side AFB 2x4 intake?
