67 BB z bar ?

Hi guys, I am restoring a 67 ss/rs 396 4 speed. Having trouble with my clutch rod,( the one that goes from the zbar to the pedal) where the rod goes thru the firewall it seems to high in the hole almost to the top wearing out the clutch rod rubber boot. How can I tell if I have a SB z-bar or a BB one , should the rod be centered in the firewall hole ?

Mike one thing I know is the big block z bar is longer .My 67 396 z bar is 8 7/8
