Is this breather hose filter discontinued or am I mistaken? Thank you.

Charley

I bought several from Chevy a couple years ago.

What was the specific year and engine usage for that part? It's clearly a flame arrestor, and that function was served on most Corvettes by a fine mesh screen press-fitted on the end of the elbow inside the air cleaner.

I don't know. I found it with my NOS parts and referenced it in a catalogue which stated it's discontinuation. It is obviously not applicable to my 327 and thought it belonged with a different hose configuration. Or even if it pertained to Camaros.

Almost looks like it might go on a power brake booster.

Connection OD is 11/16. It's in Rick's cat. page 254.

Charley

I believe it's last application was on a truck. I will try to dig one out for a part # I know the parts places were removing the part #.

The only Camaro application I can find for a separate flame arrestor is the '68-'69 RPO KD5 Heavy-Duty Closed Positive Crankcase Ventilation, but it used P/N 3924544 for all usages. All other crankcase vent systems used the fine mesh arrestor inside the air cleaner.

Part I have was manufactured by Fisher Corp.,  PAT. #3287094 ( Patent not Part) Would it's use be incorrect without RPO to substantiate?

KD5 required a plant-level rework of the air cleaner to drill the hole for the adapter elbow, install it, and plug the existing hole on the side; I doubt if many were built. I'd leave it stock.

Would this be the adapter of which you speak? There is no part# embossing.

Charley

The ones I posted were the ones they sell you to use with a crossram setup.

Would the one I posted be an OTC replacement?  Charley, do yours have a GM part# on them? My arrestor has only the info above. If indeed it is for a crossram set up or unusual substitution as John indicates, mine would not be technically correct because it has no GM part # on it, no? If yours in fact do.

Charley

Mine have no part # on them.
