Thanks for all the info I'm going to go change the heads to afr . And change out the cam and hope for the best ! I just got the car so I'm not trying to go crazy spending wise . I still got kids I got to feed at the end of the day . Hah

Just be careful with how much power you add.

My thoughts are always overbuild the bottom end - with forged components. Do that correctly one time and you won't look back. Top end mods are easy and can usually be done with the engine in the car.

My NA 327 made 447 HP @ 6600 RPM. 11.1 compression, 461 fuelie heads, 2.020/1.60 valves, small journal GM rods, ARP bolts, Isky 480/480/240/240/108 solid lifter cam, 1.5 Scorpion rockers, Performer RPM intake, 750 Holley, locked HEI dist, Moroso oil pan. Ran 12.00 in less than ideal conditions in my 1979 C-10 long bed truck.
