Hi
I just got a nos grill emblem & the color of the 28 is a medium grey color, my original one is an off white like the 302 emblems, what is correct? or did gm change the color on the later replacments?
Any help would be great
Thanks

I have talked to people that have NOS parts they purchased years ago and they have white numbers. Most people say silver is correct for the numbers. I bought a NOS emblem with grey and returned it. I finally found a silver one.

I've heard (maybe from JohnZ) that the emblems were originally silver, but somewhere along the way the replacement emblems from GM became white.

I purchased a complete set of 69 Camaro emblems from a GM dealer back in 1981 and did not use them until I restored my current 69 Z28 in 2000.  My originals and the GM replacements are light silver.

Many of the repro emblems today are very nice "show" pieces, and actually look better than my originals. It just depends on what your after

Here's the CRG thread with the pictures of JohnZ's original '69 Z/28 emblems:

Thanks John. I just got my grill back from the painter. Now I feel like I can make some progress while waiting for the rest of the car. ;D
