Thank you for the great pics.  There is a unbelievable amount of metal work in that car. The new owner did a great job!

I didn't know the history of the car. I am guessing they found enough pics to get many of the details correct on the rebuild.
Great job getting across the finish line with that one.

Was it a lot of metalwork? or a 'replacement body'??   I don't recall ever reading any details of his restoration....?

I saw some progress pics during the restoration. The original body was retained and metal was replaced where needed. The original VIN and cowl tags were there on the body when it was displayed at MCACN in the barn finds a couple of years ago.

You're welcome, Bryon.  Here's the link to the photos where it was seen before restoration.

I'm betting it wasn't raced with the woodgrain steering wheel..  :)

I don't know if this car raced with a stock wheel but several other Camaros did in Trans-Am.

... that ANY dedicated race cars would race with the very thin woodgrain wheel really surprises me Jon...  a thick padded up wheel would be tremendously more comfortable and controllable.

Ken is still around and he was in one of the pics above, correct? I bet he knows! And I bet he was asked!

If he isn't - an old pic was mentioned in this thread, reply #40 I think.

Yes, Ken is around and was there at MCACN to see the car's debut after the restoration.  It did race back in the day with the wood grain wheel.

That silver roll cage in reply #24 is scary looking.

Thanks for the info, Jon...   It's very surprising to me that he was comfortable driving with that wheel... for very long...
