I was going through my spare part and came across a master cylinder I had removed from an old car I owned. After some research it seems to be a rare CT master, any idea on what these are worth?

bertfam

Probably not a lot since most drum brake applications used the BS master cylinder. The only person that would want one would be someone that KNEW their original one was a CT. What's the date code on it?

D13 is probably the foundry pattern number, not the date code. The date code will be on the machined edge where the brake lines attach to the master cylinder (see example below - front mount - and sorry for the stupid photo bucket label).

194. I would attach a picture but it's to large

Email it to me. My email address is in my signature below.

Doesn't the casting have a 'cast in' date code, and the 'assembly' have a stamped assembly date code?

Not necessarily either. Original master cylinders have been seen with a casting date only, an assembly date only, a casting date AND an assembly date, or nothing at all for either!

Ok, got the picture from Danny (see attached) and the casting date appears to be 194 (July 13th), but Danny, you need to check for the "assembly date" (located somewhere on the machined flange where the brake lines attach - see arrows). You may have to use some steel wool to clean it off enough to see as most of them have a VERY light stamp, if any at all. Note that July 13th, 1969 was a Sunday, so more than likely it's not a 1969 casting. July 13th, 1968 was a Friday, so it's "possible" it was cast in 1968, but unless you can find the assembly date showing the year, we'll never know.

Also note that since this cylinder has bleeders, it's a 1969 or later power drum brake master. I have no clue if this master cylinder was used on other models or other years, but if you can find the assembly stamp, it might narrow it down.
