With reference to post #133: This could very well be the the car that ended up at Todco since it has a 1967 photo date and the front clip had a 1967 grill. I sure wish I could take a step back in time.

I Just came across this image, looks to be the two Yunick Camaros, caption said Wendover Utah. Didn't he have one car with a big

block and another with a small block to go for different records at Bonneville ?

I know this has probably been discussed here before, the Edelbrock car is still around, what about the second one ?

Also found this image, caption said Sebring '68, the car had #18 in other photos I saw from that race.

I had not seen the gas station photo before so many thanks for posting it.  Off the top of my head I thought I heard that there were three Smokey Camaros at Bonneville in '68.

I can only imagine what the owner of that Wendover small town garage was thinking having Smokey arrive with his cars! Amazing pictures, and thanks for posting.

I had posted a link in this thread Jan. 20th. 2016 that included this photo, the link doesn't seem to work any more, so here's the

photo of Pete Hamilton in it says one of the x Yunick '68 Camaros.

Mike

as usual can't seem to get the whole thing sized to fit  ::) so scroll l-r.

Jon, is this a '68, has a '69 hood ? ? ?

I wonder why they would have installed a vinyl top? I know Penske's issues, but you'd think given Smokey's reputation he would already have lightened the car as much as possible.

It's my understanding it was installed to hide some roof mods, and to cover up the ultra thin metal from acid dipping.

Thanks, Jon.
Also this photo, and the other one appears to be a still from old Super 8 film footage. IF that is the case, wonder where/who has it?

Yes, that was the case with the 1969 Penske Camaro. In the end, I don't know how it could have been an advantage with the added weight and aero drag of the vinyl. The way they ran though, it didn't matter.

Not sure about why this car needed a vinyl roof though. Easily could be for the same reason.
