Yup, Jerry is going to have to give the 302 a little more than half throttle...

My back up engine went 10.64 last year at 124 mph.  And I did not have the suspension dialed in like I do now.  Could only come out at 5600 rpm, now I can come out as high as 6600 rpm. 

That was weighing in at 3190 in 200 Ft of corrected altitude.  That engine on the dyno made 474 hp.  The engine in the car now is better than the one I took out.  See how that ET from last year calulates to the HP and weight of the car.

the first calculator didn't have the mph plug in because I don't know it for the 10.53 ET
here is a different calculater that has the MPH plug in. It is more accurate to use MPH


10.73 ET 123MPH 3190LBS = 487HP (from video)

10.64 ET 124MPH 3190LBS = 499HP

10.53 ET 126MPH 3200LBS = 521HP  (estimated MPH)

Went 124.08 as the best mph for the new car.  Car in the 10.50's would be in the 124-126 mph range.  For me, maybe 125 mph.

Just found out that J. Duzac went 10.55 this morning at the NHRA Reynolds, GA points race.  Another 67 302 car but not a real Z28.  He is the fastest D/Stick car as of now.  Also heard that the air was very good this morning for qualifiying.
