Does any one have a data base on COPOs that have been run through NICB. I have run a few through and would like to see how many were shipped on the same date.

Jerry@CHP

Good luck,

Very hard to do now.  You need an ORI #, and police officer to do it.

Ed,

You must know someone who works there or have a friend at NICB.  Years ago, I had a secret service agent and detective friend who could run them but it's not easy to do anymore.

I only run them for myself,I was looking for other that have run them. I would like to share info.

I have asked the police officer across the street from me to do the same thing and he said he could do it BUT if a vin comes up stolen there could be problems and he would have to explain where he got the vin number from. :o

We used to be able to get them from a member insurance company/or police authority. Back a few years ago the NICB would actualy fax an informal document with the Shipping Date and Dealer Ship to Name.

More recently the info was conveyed verbally.

Once in, the Key was getting someone to go back and look at the archieves/microfishe as the Computers did not go back far enough.

At least this was my experience with the NICB.

I took an I.C.S. class with a Florida State Fire Marshall, and asked him to run my car through NICB.  He stated to run it a state incident number would have to be generated, and he could not do it.  He did give me a book with all the NICB phone numbers and I called the Tampa FL office and got the same story.  If anyone has access to the site feel honored to have it.  ;)

Still wishing!!  :(

Scuncio Cars,
I had two run this year, both 67 Pace Cars.... there was nothing in the system. As a matter of fact, the guy who ran my two VINs also ran his 67 Pacer and still yet another Pacer from the same exact time period....or at least month.
Still nothing!

I think when they combined the original two services that now make up the NICB , that it's possible that some one was suppose to transfer the data file from the old system may have dropped the ball and missed a bunch of VINS from one month and region.......Have you ever heard of such a thing????
