69 door handles

Does anyone know a source to get the "thick" handle style repro or NOS/OEM Camaro door handle? None of the usual camaro part sites mention the thicker handle. HBC says camaro / firebird on their handles.

My JM report mentions my door handles as being service replacement Firebird handles that have a thinner grab area.

Good question!  I have some used sets of thick handles which I plan to try rechroming.  But if there is a better place to find them new, that might be better.

I bought a new set of spot-on repro thick handles years ago.  I would think they are still available....Try CHQ or Midnight Oil.

That's what I recall - a quality repro is/was on the market.

Right where you grip with your hand - between the two mounting points.  You can feel the difference.

UPDATE

Just picked up a set of door handles from my local camaro parts store that came from trimparts part #6735. They are noticeably thicker in the grab area than my current handles. The place I got them had another brand there to compare and again the trimparts handles are thicker. Evening project tonight..

Pics and a measurement or 2 would be nice...

Way back when, I had mine rechromed as a comparable repop didn't exist ....as far as I knew.
