1967 Camaro Drain plug ?

1967 Camaro
I believe this one came from the trunk the drain plug offset is not centered it's off to one side is this a mistake from the factory?

I would imagine it IS a vendor stamping error that was passed onto the Fisher Assy and the defect just passed on as it would seem form fit and function was not compromised and hidden by subsequent parts buried and unseen or detected. Kinda a funny Part.
