When running a first gen 140 off road cam how much vacuum should it have at idle?

Good information there, and the last post in that thread was by JohnZ.

Interesting to read that.  That was before my car was restored.  After the engine was rebuilt, I could only get 4.5 inches of vacuum out of that cam.  I took it out.   I am not sure why but I did everything I could check and x33rs helped me quite a bit on tuning it. Sounded like a drag car but it was not much fun going to a car show and backing into a spot.

I'm around 4.5" also with a Crane Blueprint 140.

I just was out tuning the new cam.  Small solid roller from Howards.  I had 14 inches of vacuum and acts real responsive.  I have not driven it yet.  Has a nice sound to it also.  My engine builder is pretty much anti anything other than a roller cam anymore after seeing a lot of problems.
