Hello, I'm new to the group.
Back in 06 I seen there was some discussion on a block with V0706 XXB stamp 327. Seems Steve68 had some insight on the stamping, but I couldn't find the verdict. I have the exact stamping on an engine I've had since about 1970, not a restamp but has strange font. I was told back in the day it was 327/365 hp, it was a super strong engine, I still have it, anybody know what XXB would be?
Thanks Jim

Yes, more information about XXX coded blocks have been found since then. In this case, XXB is a "Universal engine assembly" (P/N 3912353), which is a 1964 though 1967 327 (exc special high performance). This means it's a low to mid HP engine assembly.

I'm trying to post a picture
The stamp font is different than any I've seen
It has a solid lifter cam and double hump Head's.

If it has a solid lifter cam, someone's changed it or the documentation isn't correct (which isn't unusual!!). But double hump heads aren't necessarily high performance 2.02 applications. They also came in a 1.94 configuration that was used in the mid range HP engines.
