69 inner fender

I have purchased a nice used with patina finish original 69  RS washer bottle bracket, and the AIM I have shows a general location, on the right inner fender near the battery , But there are no holes or divots on my inner fender in the area shown in the AIM, my inners are not new , because there is a bit of previous life corrosion beneath the battery, maybe the inners have been replaced with used ones ? What is the discerning difference , if any between  RS inners and others?
