L30/M35

[68 L30/M35]

I recently Purchased a1968 Camaro which surprisingly turned out to be a L30/M35. I have read a lot about the rarity of the L30/M20 but I cannot find anything on the L30/M35. Some estimate there are currently only about 4,000 1968 L30/M20's left in existence. Can anyone tell be how may models were built with the L30/M35 configuration and how many might be left out there? I also note that the engine, tranny and rear end are all VIN matching the interior is all original as well. I'm checking the wheels, they are correct but I'm not sure if they match yet.

The 4,027 number from the CRG report is an estimate of how many 68 L30/M20s were produced.  According to the same CRG article "it is likely that surviving original L30/M20s are counted in the hundreds rather than the thousands."

OK Roger that. But...how many L30/M35 versions were there? Or where can I find out?

If you go to the CRG report on the L30/M20, it will explain the logic that they used to come up with the estimate of how many L30/M20s were made.  I think you should be able to use similar logic for the L30/M35.

Welcome 68 L30/M35.  It is often easier if you post a name to go by for conversation purposes.

Kurt gave you a link to the engine information.  We don't have a complete breakdown of engine and transmission combinations.  There were 21,686 cars that received the L30 engine in 1968.

The M35 is the standard automatic transmission (powerglide) for 1968.  The L30/M35 combination is not rare, if that is what you are asking.

IN 1968 there were 21,686 L30 engines produced  and installed in Camaros:
Here is a breakdown of the Transmission/engine combinations:
3-spd - 2177 units
4-spd - 9133 units
M35 - 10,376 units
