67 AC vent Balls

Only search I found described the 67 AC vent bezels as being dash color but did not cover the vent balls.
Are they supposed to be painted dash color or chrome like so many others I have seen?

67 bezels were dash color, balls were chrome & black.  68s had chrome bezels.
