What is the correct part number for Front Calipers on a 69 Z/28, and also what date coding method is used?  Build date is the first week of March.
Thank you.

My '69 Chevrolet P&A lists the R/F brake caliper assembly as part #5469123 and the L/F brake caliper assembly as part #5469122.

Thanks Paul.  Anything on date coding?

Keep in mind the service part number of an item can, and usually is, different than the production part number, and the casting number on a component is almost always different than either part number.

Does anyone which casting numbers may have been used for the 69' model year?
Thanks again.

My original calipers are:

Right front part number 5463633
Left front part number 5463833

I did not look for a date code when I wrote those numbers down 4 years ago.

Are you sure that's right? I looked at mine and they are both cast 5463633. In looking at them they are the same casting, just machined differently.  I noticed that on both, the first 3 digits "546" are the same size. On one the number 3 in the 4 spot is a much larger font that any of  the other number's, but on the other caliper it is the same size as the first 3. On both, the last 3 digits "633" are larger font than the first 3 or 4. The caliper machined for the passenger side which has the large 3 has a casting date of 20 while the other side has a date of 345. They go on a 02D car. This may be the craziest bit of detail I have ever posted about but to much is better than not enough.

No, I could have the 6 mistaken for an 8? When I took the numbers off the calipers it was before I cleaned them up and repainted them.

I understand. I was afraid I had done the same thing and had to go back and recheck. That's when I went crazy and noticed the different styles of font on the numerals.

The casting numbers on mine are the same as Loren's, except the casting dates are 305, and on the other, 292.

What was the original color of the calipers?

Black, mine also had paint dabs or inspection marks on them. Both calipers had orange paint dabs on them.
