Anyone with Multiplex for a 69, please help...

Just purchased a 69 Z and I'm still digging into it... It does have front speakers in the kick panel and rear speakers on the rear shelf. The grills look to be factory as well as the support brackets etc... there is however no multiplex unit or 8 track unit in the car... while installing my carpet I noticed a bunch of wiring tucked up under the dash, above the ash tray area. Could anyone with multiplex look at it and tell me if it's from an original multiplex system, an 8 track or both? I'm unable to post pictures here but did post a few pictures on Camaros.net...but got no response... here's a link to the topic with a bunch of pics.

Can you look at these pics and let me what I'm looking at... if original, I'll be looking for some used units, but need to know exactly what I'm looking for.

Does it have 2 holes in the bowl of the wiper cowl on the passenger side which may have RUBBER well nuts in them?

This is Dave Beem's old 69 L78 conv with U79 AM/FM Pushbutton Stereo  - this is the mounting for the Stereo amplifier - no multiplexer but there is more wiring due to the amp and additional speakers.

Attached is the proper wiring and wire colors for an 8 track, 69 with console mount and AM radio.The wiring with FM radio is very close to this.

I don't know much about the multiplex setup, but I've seen pictures which show a round pin connector. I actually have one of these either male or female,I don't know why I collected it. But I never needed it. Anyway, maybe these pics help you.

I went through my 69 assem manual and checked the U79 section - the photo I posted of the mount in the wiper cowl is for the MULTIPLEXER.

If your car does not have the holes in the wiper cowl I don't believe it is a AM/FM multiplex - it could be the 8 track wiring.

the 69 am 8track has 16 wires going to it. It also has a heat sink up over by the steering colume. What does yours have?

Mine has everything pictured in  abiddle's post... heat sink on the column all the wiring, hole with metal grommet in the console, in line fuse, etc... does not have the two holes in cowl area. Does not have center mount speaker. I have all four factory speakers.... I'm missing the important things like the radio and 8 track player.... finding one is rare i realize that... if anyone has any leads on one let me know!
