In my records I have 1 mid Febuary, 1mid March and 1 mid April stamped on the pad. At the time I had an 03C LOS car 19L526889 and was looking for a  DZ block.

Austin, I 'quoted' your post by mistake; this is the one I meant to quote as they listed some dates (mid month) that had VINs on the pad.  I was curious where he got his dates?  from the engine assembly date ? or from known vehicle assembly dates...?

From the VIN on the decks of the blocks you have a  timeframe of  when the car was built.

MY V0111DZ is on the pad.

Fred,  that is the engine application stamp (which is always on the pad).  The discussion was concerning the VIN and whether the VIN code was stamped on the engine pad (or on the rough cast surface down low).

I would bet that Fred knew that, and he was giving the engine assembly date for reference (but without mentioning the Partial VIN). But I could be wrong...

I'm sure Fred knew that as well, but I wanted to clarify the point of the discussion so he could provide a followup re the VIN...
