1969 L48 oil cap - painted or chrome?

I've always believed the oil cap was painted with the valve covers, but my restoration guy says the oil cap is chrome with the chrome air cleaner cover - bright accents. And so far its the only thing we haven't agreed on. I need something definitive, or I owe him lunch. I've been through all of my restoration books and I can't find a thread on here. He has a local car museum owner...

Sadly when I pulled out my original chevrolet sales album from 1969, it shows a black and white picture on the SS options page "special bright accents on engine" with chrome everything including finned valve covers. Doh!

Thanks!

My 1969 L48 has a painted oil cap and a chrome air cleaner cover. The valve covers are painted also. I bought the car from the second owner in 1974. Nothing had been replaced as far as I could tell.

The 69 L48 oil cap was painted.  I don't believe the special bright engine accent option was actually offered in 69.

X4 on painted cap. Everyone I ever saw or the one we owned was that way.
