Question regarding decoding of the numbers on the ring gear of my original 3:73 posi, BU code rear end:

Codes as follows:  2   GM   3862525    11 41    9  68

I decode as follows:

2  = Production Plant?

GM = General Motors

3862525 = Chevrolet Part No.

11  41 = 3:73 Ring and Pinion Set

9  68 = Sept 68 production

Does the "2" indicate a production plant, and if so, which one?

I will look on some of the gears that I have. But I think the 2 is not significant.
