Where the original door lock knobs for a 1969 LA-built standard coupe interior smooth or grooved on the outside of the shank and were they plastic or metal? Thanks.

I know this is a old tread but is there anyone out there making good reproduction door lock knobs for the 69 Camaro? Also were the knobs the same for standard and deluxe interiors?  Thanks.

I bought mine a couple of years ago from the Chevy dealership, whether they were left over for a long time or being reproduced I don't know but they look exactly like the worn out originals, Darrell

the reproductions being made today look pretty good, but they are metal.
the originals for 69/70 were chrome plastic.

I have a pile of originals, but can't find anyone to do a reasonable price for the plastic chrome process.

Thanks for the info guys. I appreciate it. I'll just keep my eye open for a decent set of originals.

I thought they were triple chrome like the headlamp switch knob and the wiper switch knob.

An older guy near me, that I help him maintain his cars, goes to a lot of auctions buying auto/oil/gas related trinkets. He has a fantastic collection. He had these in a drawer of parts. He said "take em". I did. 8) ;D

X2, I checked many sources to have originals re-chromed and dang it was outrageous......
