I'm having a brain fart this afternoon.  Early 68 with deluxe interior should have a black smooth ashtray or textured black ashtray.?.?

It is sorta.  It says the default is black textured on the center dash trim but I wanna make sure a deluxe interior car didn't have a smooth finish on the tray.  Can anyone confirm?

"Black textured trim was the default for the center dash panel on 1968 Camaros. But ordering either a console, special interior trim, or custom interior added walnut woodgrain to the center dash panel. (The grain of the applique is vertical - Firebird used the horizontal woodgrain.) But the ashtrays on earlier woodgrain cars were black, in contrast to the rest of the center panel. In the Feb/March 68 timeframe at both plants, the ashtray changed to a woodgrain ashtray that matched the center panel."

Is it deluxe interior?  Is the tray textured or smooth?

08E LA built with 749 interior and a smooth black ash tray.
I do not recall seen a original textured tray in a 68.

Here's one. A VERY early Norwood base coupe. No console, no Z23, no Z87. This is the "textured" 3919123 ash tray.
