Starting to look for trim rings & center caps. The trim rings should be the 4 clip design? What are the correct part numbers for the trim rings & center caps? Do these parts also have date codes? Thanks in advance.

Are they 14x7 YJ Coded Rims? If they are the four outer clips are incorrect.

Why do you think that?  and what do you think is correct?

There are many posts in reference to this, I have an 04D 69 Z and it has been to the Camaro nationals twice, 2013 and 2014.  I have the finger clips all the way around and they passed.  It is "undetermined" what was actually used, lots of opinions.  My car scored 4857 out of 5000 points and I have spent many tireless hours making sure this car is factory correct.  After talks at the show with the prominent judges they are excepting both 4 clip and fingers so I have been told.  There are no dates on the trim rings and center caps.

Good Luck in your search

I'm quite4 a bit older than you, Scott.. and I was driving these cars when they were new.. and I remember what is correct (or at least what all the cars I had access to came from the factory with).    I was asking Luv2sixty9 why he thought 4 outer clips were incorrect.... I'm curious why he thinks so... :)

My yj coded rally wheels came with the many fingers trim rings when I bought them used in 1981. Dont know if that helps at all.

What does age have to do with what the concourse judges are saying at the Camaro Nationals.  Just because your car came with them may not mean they all did.  I have done a lot of research on this and have come to the conclusion that some came with 4 clip and some came with fingers.  Just like some cars got certain bolts and some cars got different ones.  Remember that this was the 60's man and it wasn't so monitored as it is today.  Just saying if you take your car to the most prestigious Camaro show in the country, with some of the most qualified judges (Jerry MacNeish and Larry Christensen, they judged my car)  That's good enough for me.  PEACE AND LOVE

Gary,
For an unknown reason the YJ Rims came with the many fingers just like the later YH Trim Ring Rim Style.  I have researched it some and have come to the conclusion (in my opinion) that the four outer clips were not used on the YJ.  However, I'm not 100 percent sure like I am with the Oil Fitting on the 69 Z28.

I've seen, and had, many 14x7 trim rings with 4-clips...  I buy them for my friends when I see them at swap meets..  and the 4-clip trim rings are the only ones I recall seeing in the late '60's and early '70's....  but that's just my experience.. and my opinion..  (and of course everyone is entitled to their own) *S*

The 14 x 7 trim rings used the 4 clip design throughout the model year. The original ones I have for an 04C build are 4 clip. I think it was just the 15 inch trim rings that changed mid to late year.

I never saw the 'finger style' until much later..    early to mid seventies...  but I certainly didn't see all the '69's...  *S*
