Thanks Guy's, I know the motor was built for performance, The upgrade history on this motor spans from the early 70's to the late 90's. I'm finding all kinds of surprises as I tear it down. The engine was made to run at high RPMs so it would make sense he would of installed a Melling pump. Thanks Ko-Lek-tor !! That's one more part identified

Thanks Ban617, I think so too! It was built February 1969, the 02D on the tag is fourth week of February.

I don't know what happened to the original block, he probably traded or sold it to get performance parts or to fix another car that needed it. He always had a project car that he would buy, fix and flip.

Thanks for the welcome guys! The DZ302 block is not the original, he replaced it after he got the car. He had the new DZ302 punched and the heads worked and had the block and crank blue printed and balanced by the local machine shop all the racers used back then. The cam is a Crane Cam. Specs are  Intake @ cam 362 @ Valve 543 / Lift: Exhaust @ cam 374 @ valve 561, rocker arm ratio 1.5 , compression is 12.5.1 , Holley 850 double pumper, primaries and secondary's are mechanical and open at the same time, not sure why he did that, The car ran great though. The ignition is a Holley Pro Strip Annihilator housed in the glove box, with an MSD crank trigger. The car is original except the engine and Trans, the rear end is the original 410 from the factory, he remove the console and cut the tunnel to accommodate the Borg Warner Super T10 and the Super Shifter that sits right next to the knee, he did a nice job. As for the fuel, my buddy keeps telling me to run a mixture of fuel also, the 110 at 10 bucks a gallon hurts, LoL. The console and some under hood parts were in the trunk when I retrieved it, the headlight doors were not, UGGG. All the original parts disappeared from his garage when he was in the hospital. Now I need to preserve those great memories. I have my work cut out for me. Below is the inspection picture I took 3 years ago before I started messing with it trying to get it to run right at 5280 elevation here in Colorado. The Z   1969 RS Z28 DZ302

I'm new to this site because I inherited a 1969 RS Z28 x33 code from my childhood friend who passed away 3 years ago. This site seems to have some very informative people. I'm in the middle of fleshing up the car down to the sub frame as it sat in his garage its whole life and only started and driven a few times a year since 1971 when he purchased the car used from a lady that didn't like the color "Dover White" and the high gear ratio 4.10. The aluminum has deteriorated on the intake, valve covers & transmission over the years and I've got her all disassembled ready for the refresh and the DZ302 mouse disassembled ready to fleshing her up.  I'm testing the picture upload feature as I know ill need it as the build progresses. hope this works, I have a lot of research and questions that I know can be answered here.
