Decoding/Numbers / Muncie 4 speed questions
July 10, 2016, 09:25:03 AM
Hey guys! So I located a Muncie for the 68 ss350 I'm restoring and I recieved all of these numbers from the gentleman that has the trans.

P8E09-date stamp
3925660-main case number
28P313836-vin stamp number?
3884865-side cover number
93329-tag number on side cover bolt
3915401D-hurst shifter competition shifter base.

Two questions... Can I get the hurst 68 camaro linkage rods and shifter handle to work with this base mechanism? Also the tag number. i can't seem to find any info on the 5 digit tag number. Anyone know what the 93329 decodes?

There is another PTB on the passenger side and the p is correct there.  Drivers is backwards

Yes!  Maybe it was the Norwood  fisher employee "John doe's" calling card. "Yes I was here and put on this groovy stamp!"  Haha 😎

Here's another.  Page 4 near the bottom. http://www.camaros.org/forum/index.php?topic=10034.45

To me it looks like a legit backwards P

Here is a picture.  IMO it looks fairly different than a messed up B.

I wonder how that stamp was acquired.  Or what the stamp they used actually looked like.

General Discussion / PTB stamps backwards P meaning?
April 02, 2016, 11:29:26 PM
So during the time I have been documenting my 68 ss350, I seen that one of the P stamps are backwards. Any reason or meaning why it was backwards?
