Decoding/Numbers / Water pump
August 23, 2024, 06:11:13 AM
This is the water pump that was on my '69 L48 SS
when I purchased it in 1995. The casting numbers
don't fit the profile in the CRG report. Can anyone
tell me how to decode this? Thanks

Please put all removed original parts up in safe storage
in case you or next owner wants to put it back original.

If you're using a Saginaw that was behind a six banger it will have a 3.11 first gear.
With a 3.08 rear diff, that will give a 9.58 low gear. Should make it feel very peppy!

Okay thanks again. Here's the intake.

Thanks again Stingr69. What date range should I be looking for on cylinder heads?
#8
Thanks for the info stingr69. I forgot about the distributor. This one came with the car. Could it be original?

Thanks for the comments. I still have the original intake, bellhousing and oil pan.
Exhaust manifolds, heads and carburetor long gone.
Z21 is the only option to be sure of. When I purchased it in 1995 it had the
rear bumperettes and all the signs of Z23 special interior. No other options
that I'm aware of.

Howdy y'all. I'm sorry should have included link to rear axle stamp from a few years ago.
