Can someone help me ID what this engine may have remotely belonged to?  My father decided to replace his engine in his old C10.  I gather its a 327.

Thanks for the info.   Yes original engine is gone and a CE block is there now.   

Well i did not intend for arguments to get started, and forgive me for using the phrase "quite common" or even "common".  But like i stated in another post that i am young and trying to learn as much as i can about 1st gens and the 2 that i have.  Alot of you are a wealth of knowledge and quick to snub us that do not know it all, or quick to point out ny dash is not original when i was asking about something else...Was wanting to get a little knowledge and opinions about this "mis-stamp".   Or you can simply say that the stamper was hungover that day or had some hippie chick on his mind.  Vin is 559929.  Trans is 559729.   Maybe you wanted in your database.    From what i have concluded the car is an LM1.

I know we are all human, but i have the following   Dash VIN and hidden VIN 559929    Trans is  559729

Going to do my best to pull numbers off as much as i can this weekend.   I have just never known much about "replacement blocks" other than CE meant so.   For example what were the warranty time frames back in that era? (Im 36...)   Were the busted engines sent back to the plant for rebuilds as CE blocks or were CE's fresh builds?  In my picture you can see the remnants of a 3 and a 4 which makes me ask. 

Just recently purchased this car.   i knew it had a CE block but i know nothing else about them.  What was the general process of these.  I can see remnants of a 3 and 4 on the pad.  What is your thoughts?  Thanks

Been a while since I have been on here, I have a friend of mine that is pretty serious about this car so I thought I would ask.   Owner may even be a member on here.   

Ive been searching ebay, craigslist, etc for an original flat hood for my Z.  My car is a 69 build of 01B.  What number on the hood would be in the range for my car? Closest i have found is a 37 which is early Feb.(nowhere near being correct)   Or does anybody have any leads?

So it has taken me 11 months to change fluids, fuel lines, plugs, new points, etc to run it after over a decade.   Fired up like a brand new one!  Pulled it back into the shop to start going through things more thoroughly and listing items.  Took a valve cover off to get an id on these heads (as mentioned the previous owner informed me these were not original) and what a disappointment I found  333882 stamped on them.  From what I've always been told that these make great boat anchors haha.   Will keep updating but wanted to add life back to thread since the Z is alive again (or will this be classified as a partial Z for now)

When free time comes along (very rarely) at work I like to cruise around on craigslist, sometimes coming across things of possible interest to those out there.  I know you guys like to keep a database of cars when pictures of vins are posted and discuss them.  By no means am I making any judgement on this car one way or the other.  Enjoy
