Ill check it again. That was all I saw on the trans but let me double check. Where is the axle code located exactly?

Thanks I have two 68's right now and the SS is the one I am keeping. The other one is a parts car and a friend of mine is helping me fix mine on some trading for the parts car!

Thanks for the info. Yep I am excited about getting it as it is orignally Corvette Bronze. Trans is out of car right now so we can check that. I know Pontiac has the PHS which can run details based on VIN. I was just curious is Chevrolet does the same for Camaros? Id like to know for sure what engine was in it

Is there a site that will decode the VIN and any way to run the Vin to see what engine was original?

Just traded a mustang project and got my hands on a 68 Camaro SS w/ 4 speed. I am missing the engine and need to know if there is a way to tell from the VIN what engine was originally in it? It has the 4 speed Muncie and 12 pt Rear end
