Another question about the door guards that run horizonatally along the mid line of the front quarter panel, door and rear quarter panel....does anyone know if they were a factory option?  They appear to be factory guards and I have seen one other '68 with them.  The car is red with red guards.  

Is there to tell if the springs themselves are original?

Thanks for the reply.  I have another question though...My car is a 327, not an L30/M20.  It is not an SS obviously.  So that's why I'm confused about these springs.

I have a numbers matching 68 convertible w/327.  As far as I know it is pretty much original underneath.  It has multi leaf springs but everything I've read says the 68 came with single springs.  Can anyone tell me if it is possible that the 68 convertible came with multi leaf springs?
