Mild Modifications / Re: 87 TPI for my 307

I put a 89  set up on my 85 Monte Carlo SS. Just use your die grinder with small cutter on it & just keep checking it. You will have to have the Vats removed from the chip so it will start. There are some good swap books out there that are a must. A guy that goes buy TPIPARTS has about everything you will need. To use the small distr. you will need to change the plug ins, no big deal. Street & Proformance also has a lot of custom parts to help you.

Don't yet caught up in judging the cars! I've run a car show going on our 10th year. What we do is give away lots of door prizes that we get donated & use the money that we get from our sponsors to buy gift cards to local resturants. Everyone that enters a car gets a ticket and at the end of the show we have a big drawing & give the gift cards away. It takes all the politics & grumbling out of the show & everybody has a good time. We tried judging the cars the first 2 years and it seemed like we always had somebody getting mad because he didn't get a trophy or dust collector as I call them. We now have people asking when is our show going to be.

Kurt you are right. It should have a mono leaf on it. The guy bought new 5 leafs and put on it. I can correct that perty easy.

Anybody else out there have a rally green 68?

Yes it does. Body built 04C, rearend is PA0411G2. I didn't have time to get another look at spring perchs today.

Thats what is has. The code on the axle is PA which is a 3.08 peg leg. The springs are brand new so they have been changed. I will look at the perch's better today, It also has a remote mirror on the drivers side, in very nice shape. Inside door panel needs replaced but I will keep it to use as a templet to cut hole in new one. Also found brand new GM window fuzzys for both doors in the car. Body does have some prior body work on it that will need to be redone. Over all good solid car.

car is still on the trailer. I will be unloading it today & going thru all the boxes of parts. He said he didn''t have any paper work except the title with the 2nd owners name on it. Have not looked in the console or glove box yet. Thought the gauge package was strange for a plain car. Maybe it had a 350 in it like your freinds. The story is the car was bought in Robertsville ohio from a lady that bought it new, he drove it thru high school and decided to do a complete restoration, took the car all apart, the guy I bought it from is his buddy, who bought it to finish but never got it done. been in storage for 10 years.

Saturday I bought another 68 project. This car seems to have some stange options to me. The color is JJ which is rally green. I was told it had a 327 in it, which is long gone. Has the original 3 speed transmission which is a floor shift with console & gauge package, also has a factory tic toc tac with 5000 redline. power steering, std black interior, deluxe wheel. I have never seen a 3 speed floor shift with factory gauge set up. Car is apart but looks to be complete except motor. have the bell housing and clutch, shifter, rear bumper with guards.  Have not had a chance to check out what ratio is in the 10 bolt. does have multi leaf.

Does anybody out there have or know of one that is like this?
Thanks JW

Originality / Re: 1968 camaro front seats question
March 19, 2008, 08:37:16 PM
Yes, you can do it. You will have to transfer the 68 springs to the 69 frames. If I remember right the springs are in the foam in 69. but the frames still have the clips for the springs. Then just put your new covers on. JW
