Kurt,
Do you know of any 08B tags for August of 66?

General Discussion / 67 Camaro Production Dates
December 03, 2009, 09:41:14 AM
Does anyone know the earliest production on a 67 camaro by the cowl tag (e.g. o8B)? I know that serial number 100001 for both the Norwood and Los cars exist but what I would like to know is the earliest date on a cowl tag. Also, does anyone know the build date on the cowl tag for the vins 100001? My understanding is that production for the 67 camaro began the third week od august of 1966. Thanks

Here is one from a COPO that I owned as Bill mentions. It was written up side down.

Decoding/Numbers / 4FP

I seen a 67 cowl tag recently that had 4FP listed in the fourth group instead of just 4P. Has anyone seen this before? If so, what does it stand for? The car was built in January of 67 and is an automatic. Is it D33 with SS350?

Decoding/Numbers / Fake Cowl Tag??
March 29, 2008, 09:46:07 AM
I would like your opinions on this cowl tag. I was interested in this L78 project until I saw the tag. I have told the guy that I believe the tag to be fake but he insists the tag is real and that the car has been in long time storage and is original. The rivets look wrong to me as well. Your opinions would be appreciated. Maybe I am missing something but the tag looks blatently fake to me.

Decoding/Numbers / End of the model year
March 14, 2008, 01:33:52 PM
When did they cease production for the 69 model year (thought is was 11A). I saw this camaro on ebay and thought this is very late in the model year. Probably the tail end. I am not sure how to add the link but the item # is 120233299607. The body # is 157461. Kurt, do you have many Zs after this car?

Definately not.

I also have a yellow 69 Z with yellow houndstooth. IMO, rarity does make up for price a little. I think it is a great color combo!!

With the - - paint code, I would assume black in not the original color of the car.

Hold on Danny. The right car will come along. Be patient and do not make a quick decision with all that money burning a hole in your pocket!! :) My buddy has a 69 Z, dusk blue, original motor, trans and rear and original sheetmetal. Also has an original broadcast sheet. Car is beautiful. We will talk about the details over the next couple of days. I know of a couple others.

Forgive my ignorance because I do not know much about 68 Zs but were the blocks really two bolt main blocks? If they were, I am quite suprised.  ???
