Thanks for the input guys..all those things have been checked. The hose swells up to about twice it's size after the engine has been run for awhile. I checked the cap @ 15 lbs. I don't know what is making the hose swell this much. Any ideas?

I've had nothing but trouble with my lower radiator hose since finishing my car. I've had 2 resto. GM hoses that the parts vendors sell. I think their made in Pakistan. Both leaked with either a tower clamp or a sew type clamp and permatex. What do you guy's use?

JohnZ: The PVC configuration is stock for a ZL1.
William: I am using the Mark 5 block with the standard push rod.

I will check all PVC components. I've only ever put 5 qts of oil in the engine with a filter change. I'm thinking the oil has to be getting by the oil seal in the fuel pump and the diaphram is pushing it out the vent holes.

Rat Pack: I tried this (Carter) pump but it wouldn't  fit between the block and the frame.

Hello: I have been having a problem with a 2 piece fuel pump (AC) on my aluminum big block 1969 Camaro. The first one I used leaked engine oil from the vent holes. I sent it out for rebuild, re installed it and got about 3 miles before engine quit. I sent it back for repair and when I got it back it leaked fuel. The rebuild guy had left the screws loose and striped out a couple. I got a new/rebuit pump from Heartbeat city, installed it and the same oil leak appeared. They replaced it and now I'm leary of installing it. My friend at the engine shop gave me a special gasket which blocks the engine oil from the fuel pump. The instructions from the gasket say to grease the pump rod and recomends putting a grease fitting on the pump. I don't really want to do that.

Has anyone had any experiance with these 2 piece pumps? Did they all leak oil. I think it was an over the counter perforamance part and the only production car it was used on was the ZL1. I tried to get a different pump (not 2 piece) but the line to the carb would interfere with the smog pump. I tried pumps from other big block Canaro apps. but they were all the same.

I tried the repo moldings about 2 years ago. They were thiner than original and the fit was bad. So unless they have been improved since then, I would'nt recommend them. I repolished the originals. I didn't know about the chrome flash but I think  it will take quite a while for polished stainless steel to oxidize. Especially if you keep after them with metal polish once and a while.

I see their advertised on "Ricks Camaro's" web site now for the same price. Maybe if you wait a while the price will come down, it usually does. I'm happy with them though. I'vvve been trying to get them for a long time but didn't want to pay $1000.00 for used originals.

Thanks. I was kinda considering building a machine to do the polishing. Then all I would have to do is watch it. I wonder if their would be anyone interested in having their windows done?

I've been looking for correct door glass for my 69. I got a complete set from auto city, date coded. All the pieces were nice except the door glass. They date coded them exactly as my old ones.They were the best price and verry good to deal with.

The side lites were the only problem. The curve from top to bottom is their but the curve from front to back is not. With the glass in the door their is a gap in the middle between the fuzzy and the glass. I put a straight edge along the lower portion of the window and it is flat. An original window has a slight curve horizontally as well as vert. they also had cloudy marks.

I ordered an expensive one (2x) from OEM glass (not so nice to deal with) and it was the same except no cloudy marks.

I just checked the psauto glass site and they don't show any 69 side lites.

Shauron327 could you please check your doors with the windows rolled up to see if their is a gap in the middle of the door between the glass and the fuzzy where the glass meets the door and let me know.

I am polishing a set of original side lites at pressent. I got the stuff from Eastwood. You have to be carefull not to dish the area of any severe scratches or you will get a lensing affect.The ultra fine polishing paper works well but is very labor intensive. I've got about 50 hrs. into them so far. they look really good and all I have to do is use the cerrium oxide polishing compound on them.

Got the rotors last night. They look really good, can't really tell them from original ( I have one worn out original and 2 hubs). I don't know if the disc will fit a GM hub but it certanly appears that it would. I measured the rotor thickness 1.005. I think most all of us are already running replacement rotors from China anyways so their's no reason not to run these and save the originals.  Besides they look way better.......
