General Discussion / Re: Disc Brakes Opinions

"Hard stopping" is limited by traction isn't it? Even stock '69 disks can lock the tires. Now if we're talking repeatability on a track, then heat resistance and fade is a factor.

I think I have one and the manifold bracket that goes with it. I pulled it out of a '69 I converted to a 4-spd.

YOU NEED A STARTER THAT HAS THE CAST IRON REAR HOUSING

What were they used on? How can I tell it's the right one?

General Discussion / Starter question
November 23, 2005, 06:08:49 PM
I have a '68 that used to have a turbo 350. I'm replacing it with a muncie, but I'm having a starter problem. I have a 621 bellhousing with an 11" clutch on a 14" 168 tooth flywheel (same size at the old flex plate). Everything fits but the starter. It's not even close. The nose is too big for the bellhousing.  It's the original 327 with the offset starter bolt holes. Do I need a different starter? I thought all the 168 tooth starters with the offset holes where the same.

Thanks
