What color is rubber coating? I want to sand down my original and don't want to go  too far . It has small cracks which I think is mostly in the coating.

Thanks john, that's what I thought. And if all the HB coded engines were the same are these numbers possibly a lesser used casting? Butch, check the dates on the back when you take them off. They look just like the other numbers. I guess they could have been changed if they cracked or something. But both? And they still have the French locks.

Never checked the numbers. They look like the correct ones even the shallow offset by the steering box. I thought the manifolds were put on at the engine plant. Just trying to learn something here. Even though it was a Chevelle it still a HB. So why would these numbers be different anybody?

So what were the numbers on the ones on the engine?

The only thing I can find stamped is A99S. I found the old Camaro Enthusiast artical written by Ian Johnson and it has a lot of info. But the date code format I believe was different in different years. There may be some more stampings under the rubbger floor boot as what I found is close to that. I don't remember the sticker on mine when I restored it. But it may have been on there. I did mine before didgital pics so probably don't have any pic os it.

I have a 04c Z 10 with tilt. I remember the date code is on the lower part of the column. I don't remember a part number but there may be one. I'll try to look under the dash and see what I can see.

Eddie, glad you are going. You will do well no doubt.

I'm pretty sure it should be green. Novas were white some years. I had a service replacement that was white. It's the lens that makes the green tint.

Another thing is my car was a dealer transfer. You see the original dealer and then the MSO was transfered to the selling dealer. The original owner is listed also when the car was sold.
