In regards to the starter nose of the 1107496, were they cast iron or aluminum?

Restoration / 1967 small block waterpump nipple

I have a 67 Camaro with a Tonawanda water pump.  Was the heater hose nipple installed and painted orange or installed afterwards and left unpainted?

Update

So I picked up a 1107496 Delco Remy starter the other day.  Upon inspection of the starter the bolt pattern does not line up with my engine like the 1107320 starter.

Here is picture of the UPC.

The engine stamp is T0509MM.  May 9, 1967.  Cowl tag 05C so third week of May.

I am looking for the correct starter number for my May 9, 1967 Camaro. I have a couple of books that I have been reviewing. The Factory Assembly Instruction Manual shows UPC 6 1107496 with a revision of 5/31/66 to 1107320. With another revision 12/22/66 back to 1107496. The Service Manual shows 1107320. Legends Judging Manual shows 1107496 for small block cars in 1967.

TIA
Ken
