Restoration / Where can I get interior paint?
August 06, 2020, 01:49:28 AM
Hello!

Looking for a good quality paint to do my plastic kick panels.
1967
Code 709 (gold) is the code for the bucket seats.  I'd assume I get a vinyl compatible spray paint?

I see stuff on the internet but it's so hard to tell...

Thanks for your time!!

Hello
I have a 67 RS with the Vintage Air installed in a non ac car.  Works well but the little vents bolted under the dash bum me out.  Has anyone been able to install the stock ac vents into the steel dash?  Is there a document or template that would tell me what size hole I could cut in the steel then install the "ball type" vents?  the one in the center of the dash from vintage looks fine, I'd just like to change the left and right ones in the dash......

Thanks for your time!

Hey crossboss
Who is this man you speak of?  By any chance do you have any contact info or a direction I can go to look for him or any one else who may make these?   Plugging in Chevy cowl plenum air cleaner gets me old links to this site for Nelson and his nice repo.  There is an ok looking copy by D & R classics and a not so nice fiberglass one sold by heartbeat city.  This set up looks like the best way to get cooler air intake rather than the big chrome tube with a filter on the end.  I really like the look of the originals on the z28s that ordered them.  Awesome how they figured that out back then.

Thanks for any help and your time!

"This is a very close reproduction assembly in steel and
aluminum of the original cowl plenum and the duct. This part is very durable and will not disappoint in fit and
finish. I have the mold and can reproduce more plenums and ducts on request, The inside of the duct also
has a smooth finish making this reproduction part very difficult to tell apart from the originals with the
exception that this part is better looking and surpasses other similar aftermarket parts that sell for more."

Hello

Do you still make these air cleaners or have info on who does?

Sent Nelson a letter as he won't return my calls.  Has anyone dealt with him recently or know if he still makes these air cleaners?  Has anyone used anything else worth looking at??

Thank you all!

I am happy with this source; Quality is great built by hand of steel.
Quality Costs.

Hey 169indy
I called Nelson and left a message.  His machine cut off quick.  I'm thinking he's the type that doesn't deal w email or text... or even humans.?  Did you have any other way to contact him or have the same experience?
Got a picture of the filter on your car?

Hey
I'm a new guy sorry if I'm the wrong place.
I have a 67 rs/ss I'd like to put a cowl plenum air cleaner on.  NOS is huge money if you can even find one.  I see 2 different aftermarket that range in price and limited pictures.  Has anyone got info on where to get a decent looking one?  Has anyone tried to build their own or use one from an older impala, etc?

Thanks so much for your time.
