A neighbor of mine is the original owner of a blue 69 six cyl and as far as I know still commutes the car occasionally.

This is a true Houston TX survivor of a Camaro. Super rough, barely any blue paint left, patch panels pop  rivited or screwed to the exterior, and floor boards of swiss cheese. Great car.

I'll see if I can report back with some pictures soon.

This is the same car from the Hemmings article. Lots of great back story on Solo's Facebook post, sounds like the intake will stay with car.

Great point, there were so many experimental designs put forth, but I think the L70 is unique and intriguing to us Camaro fans because it made it so close to production that it was included in the 1967 AIM. Just Imagine finding one perched atop some ol 350 in the back corner of a long abandoned speed shop.

Hello all, I wanted to finally share some info on my L30/M20 on this site. I have posted about my NCRS letter here, but have only posted most of this previously on team Camaro. I figured after almost a year I have done enough due diligence on the car to share with experts here.

This is a 2 owner California car, it has spent most of its life in ca, original owner had it until 1970, then the 2nd owner took it Colorado in 2014. The 2nd owner finally moved to Texas, where I bought in May 2018. The 2nd owner was not very forthcoming with many details, and was not able to provide any documentation.

The car has a very solid body, complete interior and trim, and as far as I can tell has been fairly well cared for since 1970 by the 2nd owner. He relayed to me the history I typed above, and that's about it. This car has completely solid floors, trunk and rear frame rails. It does have a 12 bolt, which I can't find any numbers stamped on. It looks like a Macco quality repaint happened at some point and it's clearly in need of a paint job and some minor rust bubble repair on the lower fender.
The car has its original K19 optioned L30, albeit with a decked barely legible pad. Original heads, manifolds, and correct q-jet are also present.





Pad Stamp: Block has been decked, but after lots of staring at the numbers, looks like: T110?ML to me. ( Tonowanda, Nov, 0?, L30 M20 With AIR)


Block Cast Date: J276, should line up with engine assembly first week november and body assembly 2nd week november

So far one of the mysteries of my car is the 12 bolt I have in it. I was told by the 2nd owner that it was a service replacement in the early 70's. I have wire brushed the right axle tube in various locations and cannot find a stamp. The rear has no provision for a radius rod and I can't decipher a date code in the webbing area. Would a service replacement 12 bolt have included a radius rod when installed later than early '67? The single leaf brackets appear correctly installed, so I don't believe this was a hack up job.





Bonus mystery in the quarter panel trunk dropping area I started looking around. I bought a wireless BT endoscope and started poking around the inner sheetmetal. Aside from solid rockers and floors, I believe this car has very solid original quarters and wheelhouses. I did identify an interesting label while scoping the area at the edge of the trunk pan where it meets the quarter and there is a small gap. I ran scope down and forward and found the following label: "9-28-66 GARY SHEET AND TIN UNITED STATES STEEL" "GALVANIZED" and a code: "R428127". Anyone seen this before?

This is my first post but I've been nosing around for a while trying to learn as much as I can about my semi-survivor 1967 L30/M20.

I just received my NCRS report and the results are: Dealer Code 179, Zone 6 : Dahl Chevrolet Co. Oakland Ca.

Is anyone else a Dahl car owner? From the history I've found online the dealer was on "Auto Row", which was the main dealership drag in Oakland for the better part of the 20th century. Of course, things change, but I believe the dealership is still there doing business as a Nissan dealer at the corner of Broadway & 27th: https://goo.gl/maps/nL2oqX4SwtE2

Anyhow, I thought I'd share what I've learned as I don't know much else about my car, other than I am the 3rd owner and the 2nd owner could not or would not provide any documentation other than verbally telling me that the car spent it's life in California until very recently.
