the numbers seem to lack definition, otherwise it is in auful good shape for a 69 tag?

That was talked about on TC.  I think someone mentioned the goop running out of the riviets and the tag was scratched off at the numbers before being painted.  Sure looks like someone had a blank and added numbers.

according to jerry's book, 124379n636 vin should be 05A production. this is 04C. is that close enough?

That's what I'm trying to figure out.  I looked at another 04C Z10 and it had a vin of 124379N631601 which fits the vin/build date correlation.  Anybody know if vin 124379N636136 would be acceptable for a 04C build date?   ???

I have attached photos of the other Z10's trim plate and vin plate.

The last Norwood April VIN recorded by GM is 637106 (this was the last car out the door on the 2nd shift on 4/30/69), and at that point there was at least another 2 days of 04 dated cars in the que (April 30th was a Wednesday).  My car is 6369xx and its an 04L dated car.  636136 is fine for a late 04C built car.

My 04L SS/RS L/78 is 638xxx  I'm the second owner, purchased in 1973 and I know the original owner. Mine was also a special paint, not sure if that has anything to do with the trim tag date or not.
