Title: 69 Z/28/ radiator mounting
Post by: Fanthomgreen69 on January 23, 2025, 12:19:50 PM
Will b replacing orig radiator with US Radiator unit when wether improves. Will have original recorded in the future. Ordered original mounting hardware for shroud & radiator from HBC. Noticed on UPC 11/13  B4 the Pass. side uses 2 bolts, but Driv. side uses 2 screws & 2 well nuts. Just curious,? What's the reason for this & does anyone have original pics showing the fit.

If I recall correctly, where the well nuts are, you can't get a nut on the backside of the core support....Joe

* Thermal Expansion.
** Vibration Dampening.

Enemies of Non ferrous material fatigue and Solder life longevity.

L6/SBC/BBC, while rads differ in config, the mounting is similar (i.e. Use of well nuts, as in Fixed End [Pass/RH]and Floating End [Driver/LH] to combat the above)

I wonder if the Entire GM lines used same set up?
