Title: 1969 Z/28 Rally Green black paint below the rocker molding

Can anyone out there tell me the criteria when the area below the rocking molding is painted black?  I'm restoring a 1969 Z/28 that is Rally Green with white stripes..Thanks Dave

Non style trim cars are body colour. Style trim cars, that are rally green are painted black....Joe
