Hi fellow First-Gen Camaro owners/drivers:
I have a 1968 base model 327 Camaro and am searching for 2 original/NOS brown tail light outer sockets as required by the Concourse Legend judges. Any help on where I might find these sockets would be greatly appreciated. White and black sockets are everywhere, but no brown sockets. Many thanks. gwp4
I personally do not have but will reach out to someone who might. If he does I'll pm you his email. Do you have the plastic sleeve that went over the harness? That can be somewhat difficult to find if needed also. I used my original brown sockets to replace the ones that came with the new repro harness and they were a bugger IMO to change out. I have info on how and what I used in my 68 build thread.
The brown sockets are not easy to find.

IIRC, those sockets were standard issue and not vehicle specific. Corvette, Nova,,Chevelle, etc. Ebay with a used wire harness should have it.
$38 for a socket? I'm in the wrong business.

Going only from memory as my car is tucked away for the winter, but that doesn't seem to be the right shade of brown.

Looks correct to me. I might have a few extra sockets from when I redone the harness on my red car. But I'll have to look.

Notice how the trunk spatter tells you immediately where the cars build origin was.
Darrell, let me know if you have a couple for him as I have not been able to get hooked up with who I was going to.
pm sent to cook_dw.
Many thanks. gwp4
