What a waste of time - but I keep going back...WHY!
Its keeps getting worse every year. More non-car related junk, and less car parts. Lots of empty spaces.
Because we hope to find that one missing piece for our project or the vendor who has that high dollar piece but doesn't know it :) People ask me what I'm looking for. My responce is "I'll know it when I see it" :) Joe
I quit going years ago when they raised the price of ham and cheese sandwiches.
Well - I did come across an NOS GM cowl induction seal in its box for $25 that has seen better days...I didn't need it but.......what the hell. There's always eBay.
I'll plan on the Spring.....thanks for saving me the cost of the expensive sandwich.

A friend of mine went Saturday - he said it was a joke.
I think we're seeing the final effects of eBay, plus other online vendors. Camaro Central was there sporting a lot of their repro stuff - which is the business now. Southern Camaro too.....
But I'll be going in the spring time for sure. The lure of Carlisle never ceases. LOL!
FOMO is an undeniable dynamic.
Our local swap meet 1.5 weeks ago was kind of a joke too. 3 or 4 big local sellers had good stuff, but high priced. Mostly leftover junk I had seen several times before plus a lot of flea market type stuff.
The selling online has killed good swap meet finds.
Fear Of Missing Out is a real thing indeed.
So far Hershey sucks. The weather is perfect, hi 70's lo 80's. But everyone is in fast walk mode staring at their phone or driving by in a golf cart not looking at all. Spectator fields are very low in volume. Sold a $50 tail light today for $25 and guy tried to get me down. 648 cars registered for car corral, usually about 1200. Good food is GONE.
I have always enjoyed a good swap meet. Been finding stuff for my 68's for many years. But ebay opened a new world for finding hard to fine parts .My favorite is when you see 10 watchers and the part is hard to to find and has a buy it now price. But ebay has even slowed way down like the swap meets. GM does not make most of these parts anymore. Most restorers would rather use GM than reproduction parts so the availablety of these parts are drying up with the cars been dragged out of barn's , junkyards and fields. Went to a swap meat in February and found a 68z28 power steering driver pulley hidden under bench for for $5.00. Have been to 3 other swap meets since and did not buy a thing. Still love the swap meets because you can see the part. For the guys that are too busy looking at there phones and not digging thru boxes thanks.
When I moved to San Diego, I went to the "Big 3" , Pomona, and Long Beach swap meets. They were 1 and done. When you're accustomed to Carlisle, you get spoiled....and it beats being at work or anything else. Learn to love it.
