Title: Location of voltage regulator
Post by: mdz on February 24, 2022, 08:38:56 PM
Putting my 69 Z RS back together and having trouble locating the voltage reg on the radiator support. Have installed the horn relay, but cant find the three bolt holes for the regulator. Seems like it should be above and toward the middle from the horn relay, any help, a photo would be super. Thanks in advance.

This is not an RS, but voltage regulator would still be in roughly the same spot:

So one thing I had thought about with my car being a "early" 69 was the mounting of the regulator.  I think 67-68 used a rubber isolator to mount it.  But 69 used 3 sheet metal screws.  Could an "early" 69 use the rubber mounts, then it was changed over just a screw later in the year?  So many "68" things on my car, maybe this is a change too.

MDZ, what is your build date? Do you have 3 larger diameter holes in a rough triangle in the pictured location?

And are you using the original radiator support, or a 'reproduction' replacement?
